A regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Trinidad was held on the 8th day of May 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall at 212 Park Street, Trinidad, Texas, at which time the following subjects were discussed to wit:

3. Invocation: The invocation was given by Betty Sanders.

4. Visitors/citizen forum: No comments made during citizen forum.

5. Discuss possible changes to Zoning Ordinance: The Chairman asked that all members take the zoning ordinance home and review. At next meeting, changes will be discussed.

6. Consider allowing fences in front yard: Cindy Stanton attended the meeting and wanted clarification on why she could not have a fence in her front yard. The Board discussed the importance of keeping the right of way clear due to water and sewer lines plus the safety issue of vehicles on the street. It was also discussed how some citizens have placed fences on others property lines. It was mentioned that Ms. Stanton's home is very close to the street. Ms. Stanton said her sidewalk is probably in the right of way. Ms. Hernandez said it wouldn't be right to make an exception for one and not everyone. Motion was made by Betty Sanders to not change the ordinance at this time until all board members can review. Billy Ray Hornbuckle seconds the motion. Motion carried 3 to 1 with Beth Parker voting no.

7. Adjourn: Motion was made to adjourn by Beth Parker. Billy Ray Hornbuckle seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
