PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
CITY OF TRINIDAD

Regular Meeting
Thursday, March 16, 2017

A regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Trinidad was held on the 16th day of March 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall at 212 Park Street, Trinidad, Texas, at which time the following subjects were discussed to wit:

1. Call to Order: Chairman Kay Hernandez called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

2. Roll Call: Board members present at the meeting were Helen Covey, Betty Sanders, and Beth Parker. Mike Airheart and Billy Ray Hornbuckle were absent.

3. Invocation: The invocation was given by Betty Sanders.

4. Visitors/citizen forum: No comments made during citizen forum.

5. Discuss addition to the Methodist Church: Roy Stanfield addresses the zoning members by telephone. The new building across from the Methodist will be "an addition" to the existing church and will be zoned as the church.

6. Discuss and approve type of storage building placed at 1111 McEntire: Sam and Lisa Adams recently purchased the home at 1111 McEntire. The building he will move in will be attached to his existing barn and both will be remodeled in a way to be consistent with each other's aesthetics. Mr. Adams said it will definitely blend with the surroundings and will be barely visible from the street. He wanted the zoning board to know he will always make sure he follows what's been set up by council and zoning. They are excited about making Trinidad their home. Motion was made by Betty Sanders to approve the building. Helen Covey seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

7. Discuss and approve types of storage buildings: The zoning board will take the zoning ordinance home and consider a few changes they would like to make such as buildings brought into the city, tiny homes and possible minimum square footage. Motion was made by Beth Parker to table this line item to give the board time to review. Betty Sanders seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

8. Adjourn: Motion was made to adjourn by Beth Parker. Helen Covey seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.

9. Adjourn: Motion was made by Helen Covey to adjourn. Billy Ray Hornbuckle seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
