Public Works Department

General Information

The Public Works Department has the massive responsibility of maintaining the city's physical assets: streets, sidewalks, mowing, line maintenance of water system, sewer maintenance (lift stations), and municipally owned buildings. The department also installs new water lines. The Public Works Department is made up of three employees.

The employees of the Public Works Department garner little glory while performing some of the most visible and important functions in City government - protecting the longevity of all city facilities, including streets, drainage, wastewater, facilities, water distribution, as well as City-owned vehicles, equipment and buildings.

The City of Trinidad Public Works Department provides 24-hour response to requests for Public Works related emergency services. To report an emergency such as water leak or sewer stoppages during normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) call the City Hall at (903) 778-2525. The Public Works Department would rather receive multiple reports about a suspected problem than no calls at all.

To report emergencies after normal working hours or on weekends, call (903) 477-1775 to reach the Public Works employee that is on call. When reporting an emergency, please provide your name, address, phone number and a brief explanation of the emergency.
