The City will perform periodic spraying for mosquitos as deemed necessary.  Mosquito spraying will not occur during rain or if the wind speed is 10 mph or greater.

Pesticide being used:  BIOMIST 4x4 ULV

How safe is it?

Pesticides that are used for mosquito control have been judged by the EPA not to pose an unreasonable risk to human health.  Spraying is schedule in the evening to limit exposure to people who may wish to avoid contact with the pesticide used to control mosquito populations.

Sprayiing will begin around 8:30 p.m. through 11:30 p.m.

People with conditions such as asthma and other respiratory conditions can consider staying indoors becuase spraying may worsen or aggravate these conditions.

Extra precautions during spraying:

  • Remain indors with children and pets and cover any ornamental fish ponds, beehives or organic gardens.  Stay indoors for at least 1 hour after spraying has concluded.
  • Close windows and doors, and turn off window unit air conditioners or set to recirculate indoor air only
  • Drive cautiously around truck spraying pesticide.
