Residents of Trinidad:
As we approach the winter months, and the end of the swimming season, I would like to remind everyone that has a swimming pool of any kind that they need to start thinking about how they are going to be storing it for the winter.

Example #1: If you plan on leaving the water in your pool, then you need to winterize it by putting the proper chemicals in the water and having the proper cover on the poo, a cover that will not blow off during high winds or a cover that will not tear easily.

Example #2: If you do not plan on leaving the water in the pool the please drain the water in a safe manner as to not flood your house or your neighbor's property. Then please put a pool cover over the empty pool so that rain water cannot accumulate inside the pool and allow mosquitos to breed.

Our/my main concern in bringing this to everyone's attention is so that next summer when it is time to jump in the pool and cool off, there will not be as many mosquito issues and more fun in the sun.

As always if you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or City Hall any time.

Thank you for your help and support,
