4th Annual City-Wide Garage Sale PDF Print E-mail

MAY 3-5, 2018

The City will be hosting a City-Wide Garage Sale on May 3rd through the 5th beginning at 8 a.m. each day; so clean out your attics and closets and get ready to make some spending money!

A list of the addresses that are participating as well as a map marking the locations will be distributed to key locations around town. The deadline to add your garage sale to our list is FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2018. All you need to do to participate is have a sale on one of those days or all of the days. A list of the homes and a map will be available at city hall on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

The City will advertise the City-Wide Garage Sale in the newspaper.

On the day of the sale, put up balloons, flags or signs to show "cruisers" that your house is having a sale.

Four reasons for holding a garage sale:

• It's good for your wallet. Everyone appreciates a little extra cash. Put the money generated from your garage sale towards a special activity or entertainment - an unexpected treat you didn't realize you could afford.
• One person's garbage is another person's treasure. Many people really have fun finding unexpected items at a much reduced cost. That old disco ball you bought in a moment of madness in 1979 and kept in your garage for 30+ years? It's now a piece of garden art in my backyard!
• Get rid of clutter. Back to the disco ball in your garage - think about all the items you've purchased over the years that have been taking up space and collecting dust. Free up that valuable real estate for other uses.
• It's good for the environment. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. By holding a garage sale, you're diverting goods from landfills.
